Ed's Scary Song is a song that was performed on a Radiohead webcast in the early 2000s.

History[]

Ed's Scary Song is an experimental piece that has been floating around in the web since the early 2000s, after first being performed on a webcast by the band. The song is sung by Ed O'Brien in a Vincent Price-esque voice, accompanied by a haunting organ and repetitive drumming. It seems more like a jam, as if the band playing around in the studio. There isn’t much information about it and it does not seem like something the band will ever pursue to turn into an actual song.

Kid a hidden booklet

Some of the lyrics have appeared in the Kid A hidden booklet. It has been speculated that Ed was drawing sentences from a hat in dada style, a method the band used in songs of the Kid A/Amnesiac period, like Everything In Its Right Place - whose lyrics also appear in this song.
