Xendless xurbia

_Xurbia_Xendless Ltd. is a record label created by Radiohead in July 2007, in order to distribute their seventh studio album, In Rainbows.

History[]

The name Xendless Xurbia is thought to come from "Endless Suburbia", an idea that the band toyed with during the In Rainbows era, seeming to represent the oblivious sheep-like nature of the general population, and the loss of individuality. This idea can be seen in some of the artwork that Stanley Donwood produced for In Rainbows Disk 2, featuring rows upon rows of identical houses in black and white. The symbol of the houses is similar to the idea behind Down Is the New Up, with the down arrow drawn inside the up arrow to make up a crude house.

Endless Suburbia

Since their contract with EMI ended after the release of Hail To the Thief, similar to the creation of Xendless Xurbia, Radiohead have created a new record label before the release of each of their recent albums. In December 2010, Ticker Tape Ltd. was created leading up to the release of The King Of Limbs in February 2011, and in October 2015, Dawn Chorus LLP was created in preparation for A Moon Shaped Pool, released in May 2016. Unsustainabubble Ltd. was also created in 2010, which was used for the release of Atoms For Peace's AMOK (2013), and Thom Yorke's solo album, Tomorrow's Modern Boxes (2014).
